Gary Stringer is an Executive Board Member of the Kodo Butoku Remnei (Old Ways Martial Virtues Federation), an International Instructor for The World Street Combat Systems Organisation, a member of the World Association of Martial Arts Masters (Japan) and The World Sokeship Council – Seishinryoku Kai and he is registered as an Associate Instructor with The British Combat Association.  His martial arts career spans over five decades and he has trained with some of the world’s most famous martial artists and appeared in martial arts magazines. When interviewed by the then editor of ‘Combat’ magazine, Bey Logan, he was dubbed “one of the UK’s most effective martial artists.”

Stringer Meijin is the Chief instructor at MCSDA and founder of the Stringer Ryu JUKADO system. He was honoured in the Queens Birthday Honours list in 2020 being awarded the British Empire Medal. (B.E.M.)

He has previously provided training to the Tactical Firearms Unit of Derbyshire Constabulary and is an internationally recognised instructor, teaching in Europe and the rest of the world for various martial arts organisations. A recognised expert in the fields of Personal Safety Awareness and Self Defence he trained as a Personal Safety Trainer / Advisor for the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. Whilst serving as a Police Officer with Derbyshire Constabulary, he conceived and ran the highly successful ‘Hands Off!’ Personal Safety Initiative, which featured on the Crimewatch TV programme, subsequently receiving a Chief Constables commendation for this work and recognition by The Safer Cities Partnership. He has provided Personal Defensive Tactics Training to several of the Midlands major employers including Rolls Royce, Benefits Agency Staff, Derby City Council and has also trained Security Staff at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary as well as at many other firms and locations in the UK. In 2016 he was inducted into the Martial Arts Illustrated Black Belt Hall of Fame. In 2017 Gary was awarded a Fellowship by the prestigious Institute of Martial Arts and Sciences. (I.M.A.S.)
